All coaches accepted into the program will be required to take NCCP mentorship training online via Zoom.

In collaboration with Sport Nova Scotia and the Mi’kmaq Sport Council of Nova Scotia, we will be launching the first-ever Nova Scotian Black and Indigenous Coach Mentorship Program. The program will be a two-year project aimed at recruiting and supporting black and indigenous coaches. The program will include face to face workshops and virtual sessions, one-on-one guidance and support from experienced coaches and also receive National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) training.

The Black and Indigenous Coach Mentorship is free, and there is an application and interview process to identify perspective mentees. The program is open to any coach who identifies as a member of the Black and, or Indigenous community. This includes new and experienced coaches who are seeking an opportunity to further develop coaching knowledge, skills and expertise. Selected coaches are required to participate in the program for the full two-year duration.
